What Is Included in a Move-Out Cleaning?
A professional move-out cleaning covers every surface a property inspector will check: kitchen appliance interiors, bathroom deep sanitization, window sills and tracks, baseboards, ceiling fans, light fixtures, closet interiors, and all floors, vacuumed and mopped. At Clean & Simple, we follow a detailed move-out checklist built around the areas property managers commonly inspect.

How Property Managers Inspect
Property managers and landlords typically focus on five inspection zones. Understanding what they check helps you understand why each item on our checklist matters:
- Kitchen. Appliance interiors first, oven racks, refrigerator shelves, cabinet interiors. These are the most common fail points.
- Bathrooms. Behind the toilet, under the toilet rim, inside the shower track. Grout discoloration and hard water buildup are flagged on inspection reports.
- Floors. Not just swept, detail-cleaned along baseboards and in corners. Sticky spots or visible debris trails from a dirty mop mean a fail.
- Window sills and tracks. Sills and tracks checked for dirt and debris. Streaky glass is typically a separate add-on item, but dirty tracks are a major inspection issue.
- Walls and trim. Scuff marks (especially in hallways and near light switches). Grime on switch plates is consistently cited on inspection reports.
Our checklist maps directly to these inspection zones. Nothing is overlooked because the checklist follows the inspector's own path through the property. See our property manager inspection guide for a deeper dive.
